James Patrick Gavin, hailing from North London, is an acclaimed multi-instrumentalist composer with musical and family roots running from Northern Ireland to the Basque Country.

Steeped in Irish music, his unique approach to guitar and fiddle is described as “magnificent in its irreverence” (Folk Radio UK). Working at the forefront of London’s folk music scene, James can be found amongst the ranks numerous acclaimed ensembles.

 

TEYR

Folk trio TEYR evolved out of London’s thriving session scene, combining bothy ballads, focsle shanties, folk tunes and Irish poetry. Their unique blend of voices and instruments draws links between the many sounds of the Celtic and British isles. Composed of James Gavin (guitar and fiddle), Dominic Henderson (uilleann pipes and whistles) and Tommie Black-Roff (accordion), the players thrive on close interplay and pushing the possibilities of acoustic music.

 

The Rad Orchestra

The Rad Orchestra sing and play hypnotic tunes on guitar, ngoni, viola, violin, fiddle, bass and percussion, taking inspiration from time- honoured song writers,  minimalism, global Folk, Blues & Soul.

 

Jez Hellard & The Djukella Orchestra

Singer, guitarist and harmonica player Jez Hellard is an acclaimed troubadour. His band, The Djukella Orchestra, play traditional and contemporary folk music, from jigs, reels and rebel ballads to tango, rhumba and reggae.
