It’s been a long while since I’ve done one of these but I have a few good reasons why.

I currently find myself in Barteheide, just north east of Hamburg on tour with Jez Hellard & The Djukella Orchestra.

For those of you who don’t know Jez and the band, you might remember him playing a couple of numbers at the end of the Union Chapel launch of Chewing The Fat.

Thanks to all of you who made it down for what was the best gig I’ve ever done. I’m very proud and humbled by all the class musicians who agreed to share the stage that night and for all the support.

It’s just about been 3 months since then and I’ve been slaving away with Paddi, Maxi and the crew editing audio and film of the night.

I’m excited to preset to you in collaboration with Sleight of Hand Records and DarkWood Media the first of three videos from the Union Chapel launch.

Here’s Mena’s Teapot…..

In other exciting new, Mr Tommie Black-Roff of TEYR and the Chewing The Fat gang are running a Folk music summer school called Crean Folk Camp.

The camp begins on the 18th of June and runs for the week, featuring a whole array of great tutors, beautiful beaches, sessions, concerts and great company.

The camp is located in Cornwall, nestled between Penzance and Lands End. I’m not exaggerating when I say it’s one of the most beautiful spots in the UK.

There are only a few places left so follow the link- https://creanfolkcamp.org/attend/

Last but not least, gigs. Believe it or not I have some, with loads of different people.

As I said before, I’m currently out in Germany with Jez and Nye tearing it up with some cracking songs and tunes.

If you find yourself with nothing to do in northern Germany for the next few days then check out the list of gigs on Jez’s website- http://www.jezhellard.com/htdocs/?page=gigs

If Germany’s no good then you’ll also find me playing not only with Jez but also TEYR this summer.

And if you’re still not happy with that, then I’ll be playing a really special gig at Plush Festival on the 5th of August with a whole of bunch of familiar faces from Chewing The Fat.

All the best and see you on the road,

James
